Musical Influences

The Most Powerful Art Form
Sure, there may be some who disagree but music is far above any other art form in how it can influence you and make you feel. The sound vibrations that make up music do not need to be translated to be understood which is an amazing thing. After the things I've seen and the stories I've heard, I cannot see this topic any other way.
Thoughts
What is something that can make you sad, happy, and just pumped in an instance? I don't think a painting can, a sculpture, or even a movie. Music can cheer you up when you are having an awful day, inspire you to do something, help prepare you for a big game. The amazing thing is that it is so simple, all you need is your ears to filled with emotion.
Music can also carry memories and emotions with it that make you feel a certain way, reminding you of something good or bad in your past. Though I'm trying to explain some of the many things that music can do, I don't think we will ever really understand the phenomenon of music like the great creator who made it.
If you notice, music is a big part of other art forms such as movies, video games, and TV shows. What would these mediums be without some background music? It can set the mood like nothing else, I mean nothing even compares I think.
Let me tell you a story about a man I know who teaches guitar and has been playing guitar for years. Many of you know about Nirvana and lead singer Kurt Cobain. Well as you many know Nirvana got really huge in the early nineties, they were starting a movement. But in 1994 Kurt Cobain reportedly committed suicide for reasons we don't really know. Days later this man I know was watching the news and they were reporting that 3 boys had committed suicide in a field with a note that read "when Kurt died, we died." Now just think about that for a second, Nirvana, a band that had only been around a few years, their lead singer had touched these boys lives so much through his music that they took their own lives because Kurt did. These boy didn't even know him! This is a sad story, it's a tragedy and there were actually many stories like this of people taking their own lives because one lead singer, Kurt Cobain had taken his own. Once this man I know heard this story, he was overwhelmed and it was what inspired him to pick up guitar. He thought how many people committed suicide when Michelangelo died, or some other artist, actor, director, architect, or any other famous person not involved with music? I sure can't think of anyone, and that is just a testament to the power of music, as sad as it may be.
